week twelve.

So I went to look at the photos I took this week and to my surprise, there weren't any. I guess it was a busy week. However thanks to our trusty iPhones we had some shots of the special "dates" Sam and I took with the kids separately. We had never done this before because, well I am not sure. It was a lot of fun and we will definitely be doing it again!

Mabel: We chose a tea party with her friend Marleigh followed by ballet class and the grocery store. I loved getting to listen to all of her stories without distraction.

Gus: He and Daddy had a blast at the fire station looking at tools and big trucks. Apparently all the firefighters thought he was the coolest.

week eleven - a palm springs getaway.

We took a very quick trip to Palm Springs this week and everyone had a blast. We brought my sister Ali along as well. The hot sun was so refreshing and the relaxing vibe of Palm Springs was exactly what we all needed to put a pep in our step for spring.

Here are this weeks pictures plus a couple of extras.

Gus: He definately knows how to relax on vacation.
Mabel: She has so much energy and is always up for an adventure.

We stayed at the Ace Hotel and it was as cool as it looks. We can't wait to go back!

week ten.

This weeks photos are through the eyes of Sam. He took the kids, along with his parents, to a local wildlife park called Out of Africa. He wanted to take my camera and practice taking pictures and I have to say I was really impressed with them.

Mabel: She got a haircut this week and it suits her perfectly. She is so full of energy.
Gus: This poor guy doesn't have one hat that fits his big, old, lovely head.

week nine.

Mabel: She was taping some of her artwork up in the playroom. I love her silliness.
Gus: Making me cookies in his kitchen. I love his seriousness.

gus theodore turns 2

Happy Birthday to our clever sweet little guy. It seems impossible that 2 years has gone by already.

Some things about Gus right now:

He loves to be called Gussy.
No one makes him laugh harder than Mabel.
He loves to read.
He pretends to be a firefighter all the time. He does the cutest little bit where he uses his hand as a pretend phone. It always starts out with  "Hi firefighter Rodrigo, Hi firefighter Jeff, dis is Gussy, I need your help!"
He loves macaroni, avocados and ketchup.
His favorite animals are Elephants, "sumo-whales" (which means shamu whale), and Tigers.
He could play with his train and tracks all day long. He lays on the floor and pushes them around saying "choo-choo...chuga...chuga...chuga"
He is a blast at tea parties.
He knows more about dinosaurs than most adults. Triceratops is his favorite.
He rubs your back while he's hugging you.
He knows the theme song to the Thomas and friends show on PBS by heart and busts it out at random times.
He can also belt out "let it go" from Frozen almost as good as Idina Menzel.
He does not like sunscreen and sparkling water.
He barges into our room most every night and scares the crap out of us by yelling "suprise!" and falls back asleep of course in our bed.
He is really the sweetest most caring little guy. He is so sensitive to other peoples feelings and is the first one to be there when anyone gets hurt or sad.
He always shares without hesitation.
When we go places and he sees people he knows, he runs to them like its been ages since hes seen them. As well as when we say goodbye. Everyone gets a huge hug and kiss.

We love you Gussy. xo

week eight.

Gus: This week Gus and I got to have a little alone time which doesn't happen often. He wanted to paint so that's what we did. He kept saying "Look Mama, it's a purple dinosaur!"

Mabel: We had chocolate ice cream with fresh strawberries for desert and she wanted to make sure she got every last drop.
